Multilingual

Languages have been an essential part of my life from an early age. I grew up in a bilingual family and encountered a third language at the age of five. Later, I studied several languages through the school system, but I also chose to learn languages independently, driven by curiosity, a love of travelling and the desire to understand the language of the places and cultures around me.

My interest in multilingualism became especially personal when my husband and I began raising our son bilingually while living in Hawai‘i. This experience led me to a practical question: how can children encounter different languages naturally, playfully and learn them almost spontaneously? This question inspired me to create multilingual children’s books and to establish an early-language-learning start-up built around stories, images and the idea that discovering another language also means discovering another culture.

Today, multilingualism remains an important part of my cultural and creative work — from children’s books and education to poetry, festivals and cross-border projects.

Stories, languages & happiness

My first children’s book was inspired by a pony that our son loved to ride when he was four years old. What began as one story soon grew into something much larger. Creativity took over, and I went on to write more multilingual books, develop a mobile app, create several board games and a puppet play, and design participatory workshops for early language learning through fairy tales.

At the same time, my own research into happiness revealed one wish that parents expressed again and again: above all, they wanted their children to be healthy and happy. This inspired me to create a book about happiness in which every child could become the protagonist of their own story.

With the support of the Slovenian Enterprise Fund, this idea became a personalised bilingual children’s book available in 42 languages, bringing together language learning, storytelling, personalisation and a simple universal wish for a child’s future.

Discover the book and create a personalised story for a child to whom you wish, above all, health and happiness.
