Stubelj Ars

Dr Mojca Stubelj Ars is a researcher, cultural producer, writer and visual artist whose work moves between culture, research, education and international collaboration.
She is Director of Xcenter, the creativity hub of the European Capital of Culture GO! 2025 Nova Gorica–Gorizia, where she develops cultural and educational programmes connecting art, science, technology, young people and international partners.
Her research career has developed across three main fields: nutrition and health, environmental research, and cultural research. Her more recent work focuses on European Capitals of Culture, cultural legacy, participation, belonging and cross-border cooperation. She holds a PhD in Environmental Sciences and was a Fulbright Research Scholar at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa.
Alongside her professional work, she writes poetry and creates visual art. She is also the author of five multilingual children's books and the founder of an early-language-learning initiative that brought her books to readers in more than twenty countries.
Across these different fields, her work is connected by an interest in people, place, language, creativity and belonging.
